To use cheats in The Sims 4 Island Living, press Control + Shift + C on your keyboard to open the cheat console.
For Mac users, press Command + Shift + C. If you’re playing on PlayStation or Xbox One, press all four triggers (L1/L2 + R1+R2) at the same time.
Next, type testingcheats on and press enter to allow cheat usage.
Mermaid Cheats
To turn your Sim into a Mermaid using cheats, first use the testingcheats on command, and then type Traits.Equip_Trait Trait_OccultMermaid. To turn your Sim back into a human, use the Traits.Remove_Trait Trait_OccultMermaid cheat. Make the transformation on land to avoid any glitches. Additionally, you can use bb.ShowHiddenObjects to buy Mermadic Kelp directly from Buy Mode and have your Sim transform by eating it.
Conservationist Career Cheats
The Conservationist Career Track is focused on the delicate environment of Sulani islands. To quickly advance in the career, use the Careers.Promote Conservationist command after enabling cheats using testingcheats on. At the midpoint of the career, you will have the option to become a Marine Biologist or an Environmental Manager.
Part-Time Jobs in Island Living
Island Living adds new part-time jobs including Diving Instructor, Fisherman, and Lifeguard. These low-responsibility and low-paying jobs are suitable for elders or Sims already earning money from skills. Use the following cheat codes to promote your Sim in these part-time jobs: Careers.Promote PartTime_Diver for Dive Instructor, Careers.Promote PartTime_Fisherman for Fisherman, and Careers.Promote PartTime_Lifeguard for Lifeguard.
Island Living Trait Cheats
There are four new traits introduced in the Island Living expansion: Child of the Islands, Child of the Ocean, Natural Speaker, and Friend of the Sea. Use Traits.Equip_Trait TraitCode to add a trait to a Sim, and Traits.Remove_Trait TraitCode to remove it. Trait codes include:
- Trait_IslandAncestors: Child of the Islands Trait; deep connection to Sulani and can summon Elementals.
- Trait_ChildofTheOcean: Child of the Ocean Trait; prefers aquatic activities and receives a happy moodlet.
- Trait_NaturalSpeaker: Reward for completing the Conservationist Career as Environmental Manager; spread awareness about environmental issues.
- Trait_FriendOfTheSea: Reward for completing the Conservationist Career as Marine Biologist; bonus when building friendships with dolphins and Mermaids and increased movement speed in the ocean.
Altering the Island’s Appearance (Conservation)
To change the appearance of the island through conservation, first use testingcheats on. Then, use one of the following commands to control the island’s appearance:
- Narrative.Start_Narrative Narrative_IslandConservation_Stage_Starting
- Narrative.Start_Narrative Narrative_IslandConservation_Stage_Intermediate
- Narrative.Start_Narrative Narrative_IslandConservation_Stage_Final
To trigger a volcanic eruption, use the Volcanic_Eruption Small or Volcanic_Eruption Large commands. This can cause lava rocks to emerge, which can set your Sim on fire if touched before cooling. Once cooled, they can be used for decorative purposes or broken open for collectibles.
