The Cowplant in The Sims 4 is an intriguing and unique element within the game, setting it apart from all other plants. Once fully grown, it transforms into a sentient being that demands daily sustenance to flourish. Distinguishing itself from other plants, the Cowplant exhibits aggression when not fed every twelve hours and may even attempt to consume Sims if hunger persists.
In order to cultivate a Cowplant in The Sims 4, players must initially acquire a Cowplant Berry and proceed to plant it. Over the course of a few days, the Cowplant Berry matures into a fully-grown Cowplant, at which point players need to attend to its care. There are five methods to obtain Cowplant Berries, though some are more straightforward compared to others.
How to Obtain a Cowplant Berry in The Sims 4
Grafting Technique
To create a steady supply of Cowplant Berries, Sims need to reach Level 5 in Gardening Skill. This enables them to cut and graft plants. They should grow a Strawberry bush and a Snapdragon flower. These seeds can be located in the garden behind a bungalow at the bottom right corner of Willow Creek’s map. Combine these plants to produce Dragonfruit.
Plant the Dragonfruit, wait for it to fully grow, and then graft it with a Snapdragon flower. The resulting plant will yield Cowplant Berries.
Space Exploration Adventure
Obtaining Cowplant Berries via space exploration is random and time-consuming. However, if a Sim already has access to a Rocket, choose the “Explore Space” option. The random mission, Trials of the Green Man, may reward the Sim with a Cowplant Berry after a few attempts.
Digging for Treasure
Finding a Cowplant Berry while digging for treasure is a possibility, albeit random. This method is particularly suited for Sims pursuing the Curator aspiration.
Fishing Method
The easiest approach to acquiring Cowplant Berries is visiting Desert Bloom Park in Oasis Springs and fishing in the small pond next to mountains. Patience is key, as it may take time to catch the berry.
Ordering Seeds
For Sims with The Sims 4: Seasons Expansion Pack and Level 10 in Gardening aspiration, Cowplant Berries can be purchased by selecting the “Purchase Seeds” option in the garden where Strawberries and Snapdragons are found. The Rare Seeds pack available in the menu contains Cowplant Berries. However, this method may be redundant since Sims can grow Cowplants at Level 5 of the Gardening Skill.
What Does the Cow Plant Do?
The Cow Plant in The Sims 4, when fully grown, requires feeding every 12 in-game hours. Failure to do so might lead the plant to prey on the Sim characters, tempting them with its cake-shaped tongue. If a Sim takes the bait and tries to eat the cake, the Cow Plant may swallow them whole.
There is a chance that the Cow Plant could spit the Sim out, or it might lead to the Sim’s death. In the latter case, the Grim Reaper appears, giving players an opportunity to plead for their Sim’s life. However, if cared for properly, the Cow Plant can be a fun addition to a player’s home. When fed every 12 hours, it remains harmless, and players can engage in cute interactions with the plant.
If players fail to feed the Cow Plant for 24 hours, it eventually dies, leaving only a skeletal structure behind. Therefore, it is vital to meet the Cow Plant’s needs daily.
After the Cow Plant consumes a Sim, it can be milked. If the Sim dies after being eaten, an Essence ofLife potion is obtained from milking, which, when consumed, extends the drinker’s lifespan partially. On the other hand, if the Cow Plant regurgitates the Sim, the potion produced will cause the drinker to experience the same mood the ingested Sim was in prior to the ordeal.
The Sims 4 is now available on multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Stay alert in order to prevent any unfortunate encounters with the Cow Plant and remember to take good care of it to enjoy the benefits it offers.
